In the Highlands of Scotland, near the small town of Inverness, looking at the mysterious grey waters of Britain's largest lake,
it's possible to imagine anything – certainly monsters. In 1933, the manager of the Drumnadrochit Hotel near Loch Ness noticed
a strange creature swimming in the lake, similar to a whale.
Tales of the 'monster' soon spread. Later that year, a local man took a photograph of Nessie, the lake's monster,
showing a large body and a long tail and neck. But does Nessie really exist? To answer this question, many scientists started to
investigate, hoping to uncover the mystery.
After many years of research, nothing definite was discovered about the Loch Ness monster.
But the search for Nessie continued, and special traps were designed. ln 1984 a big trap (18 metres long and more than 6 metres
in diameter) was used, but no monster has ever been caught...
